Who are we?

Our Mission
At Ka ʻUmeke Kāʻeo high expectations are not only for the haumāna but for the entire learning ʻohana. Your haumāna has specific learning expectations in key content areas that align with the educational vision of Ka ʻUmeke Kāʻeo. The Mākau ʻŌlelo and Makemakika expectations are based on Common Core standards. Each year the haumāna will build upon these skills in order to insure they are prepared to enter and successfully complete college.
Along with the school-wide expectations Ka ʻUmeke has also developed the following learning goals:
75% of students participating in our Pre-K programs will be prepared for Papa Mālaa’o.
80% of Papa ʻEkolu will be at grade level or higher in Reading and Math.
70% of Papa ʻEwalu will be academically prepared to engage in self-directed re- search.
100% of seniors will graduate on time and will be prepared for college.
At least twice a year ʻohana will participate in a kumu, haumāna, and mākua confer- ence to share your keikiʻs achievements and areas for improvement. ʻOhana involvement is critical to your keikiʻs achievement, and these conferences will focus on strategies kumu are using in their classrooms, that you can also use at home.
